Welcome to the Forest City Stockade! The restoration of the Forest City Stockade was a Meeker County project for the Bicentennial year of 1976. The Stockade, and the two-story museum within, stands as a memorial to the brave pioneers who settled here and sought safety behind its walls during the Sioux Indian Uprising of 1862.

Kraut N’ Wurst Days – The first weekend in August each year
This weekend-long celebration is kicked off with the Little Miss Watkins Pageant and Cow Drop Raffle on Friday night. Saturday they have a parade around the town, activities throughout the day, and an evening street dance. Friday-Sunday enjoy the beverage and food stands located in McCarthy Park.

The Watkins Community Pool is fun for everyone. You can sign your kids up for swimming lessons with their American Red Cross Certified lifeguards. This pool area offers both a deep pool (not equipped for diving) and a kiddie pool so you can make the most out of it, no matter your age.
